Overview

Peace is more than just the absence of violence. Peacebuilding is a long-term process of encouraging people to talk, repairing relationships, and reforming institutions. it is mainly based on the development of constructive personal, group, and political relationships across ethnic, religious, class, national, and racial boundaries. It aims to resolve injustice in nonviolent ways and to transform the structural conditions that generate deadly conflict.

Target Group

Civilians, Military and Police and affiliated candidates must have about 5  years of peacebuilding experience,  Civilian participants should be affiliated with government ministries, institutions, non-governmental organisations or traditional authorities. 


Content

In theory  and practice the course will cover the following topics and modules:

  • Conflict Analysis in various angles

  • Different conflict resolution approaches and stategies

  • Disarmament, Demobilization and Réintegration

  • Security Sector Reform

  • Human Rights

  • Transitional Justice

  • Gender and peacebuiding

  • Peacebuilding projects and interventions

  • Monitoring and Evaluation
